Toddler Tale

Last night’s “debate” reminded me of the window of toddler development, wherein two young ones play side-by-side, making appropriate grunts, but no real interaction. Proud parents chuckle appreciatively, remarking on “how nicely they play together, they are INTERACTING! with each other!” when nothing could be further from the truth.

They are, instead, merely inhabiting the same physical space for a period of time; they are observed by others as they appear to utter pre-verbal responses at paced intervals.

Last night was nothing more than a yawner.

Not even street theatre.

Two stumble-bums who ranted with the passion of a puppet on quaaludes…..

It was an insult to everyone — even the truly dead.
